Short-Term Running Goals:

To post faster times in this summer's mountain races plus finish a half marathon at at the end of the summer. Would like to improve my Mt. Marathon time for next year plus run the Moab 33K in February.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would love to do an ultra-distance race, 50 miles or even 110--oh, oh, oh!

Personal:

Single parent, live in Alaska, LOVE trail running, and the trails here are rough, baby. My dog is my best running companion, since she scares away the bears and moose.

Ran up Flattop and down the other side and then powerhiked up Peak 2 and down again, and then ran back up Flattop plus tacked on more mileage along Powerline Pass Trail. Beautiful day, sun was shining and oh, the autumn colors! The view of the Pass from Peak 2 was so awesome I could barely stand it-mountains as far as I could see, everything orange and red and yellow, and best of all, no one else around.

How fun to run in Alaska!!!!! What kind of dog do you have? I have a big 100 pound Golden/pyranees mix and he has scared away moose for me twice, but we just had a story in the news yesterday about a trail runner being stocked by a mountain lion, and I wondered what would happen if that happened to me and I was with my dog. My son who is on the Search and Rescue told me I should not be running alone even with Odee.

I noticed you want to run an ultra distance, I am doing my first 50 miler on Friday, and am so excited and nervous!

Here is a belated welcome to the blog!!!
