Running Accomplishments:

Bird Ridge Mountain Race, 2009: 70 minutes

Mount Marathon Race, 2009, 1:41

Short-Term Running Goals:

To post faster times in this summer's mountain races plus finish a half marathon at at the end of the summer. Would like to improve my Mt. Marathon time for next year plus run the Moab 33K in February.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I would love to do an ultra-distance race, 50 miles or even 110--oh, oh, oh!

Personal:

Single parent, live in Alaska, LOVE trail running, and the trails here are rough, baby. My dog is my best running companion, since she scares away the bears and moose.

Six miles on the Potter Trail, footing kind of bad in places where leaves hid roots and rocks but it added to the thrill. Saw two moose on the way and another buck by McHugh Creek, probably the same one we saw a few days ago. Misjudged the time of sunset (we're losing over 5 minutes of light a day) and had to book the last two miles. Watched the sunset over the inlet through the trees and got back to the car right before dark. GREAT run.

Ran up Flattop and down the other side and then powerhiked up Peak 2 and down again, and then ran back up Flattop plus tacked on more mileage along Powerline Pass Trail. Beautiful day, sun was shining and oh, the autumn colors! The view of the Pass from Peak 2 was so awesome I could barely stand it-mountains as far as I could see, everything orange and red and yellow, and best of all, no one else around.
